Exercise Screening for Pregnancy

Exercise during pregnancy is one of the best things that an expecting mother can do for her mind and body, as well as the health of the fetus…provided there are no contraindications to training. Before training a pregnant, I always conduct an extensive fitness assessment that begins with a physical activity readiness questionnaire. I have found the PARmed-X for Pregnancy to be an excellent screening tool for these purposes. Remember, the most important consideration during maternal fitness is safety; above all, do no harm!
